Round Table - Topic: "Virtualization with Special Focus on Desktop Virtualization"
Server-Virtualization is a well-established technology which has received quite a lot of "security-attention" over the last 3 years. The virtualization-wave has now seized "the client" and both server- and client-virtualization are essential cornerstones of a complete cloud-delivery vision. And if server-virtualization increases infrastructure complexity, then client-virtulization does so even more and therefor the security fractions need not only to understand client-virtualization but also be able to assess the innate risks of the different client-virtualization approaches. Starting with the taxonomy of client-virtualization we will discuss threats & vulns, changes in IT-(security)-strategies [forget network-based controls] and possible mitigation controls.
