.1.3.6.1.2.1.4.31.1.1 - Hello, anybody there?

March 16, 2015 (at 3:30 p.m.)

Monitoring of IPv4 relevant information is quite common, well understood and widely supported by today's network elements. Used for many different purposes, such as alarming, capacity management and intrusion detection, many people depend on this information provided via the SNMP protocol.

Did you already try to gather similar information about IPv6? Well, we did and present our findings in this talk. For the past two months we collected as much as possible IPv6 related information from our company's network elements. We will start our talk with a quick overview of our network topology and present the current status of the IPv6 MIB standards before talking about our findings. The talk will not only cover IPv6 packet statistics but also security related information available via SNMP (e.g. rogue RAs).
