As a result of the exhaustion of the IPv4 free address space, more and more sites are becoming dual-stacked – that is, available over both IPv4 and IPv6.

Recently, we have been focusing on research and development in the area of “IPv6 network reconnaissance”. Following extensive research in this area and implementation of associated tools, we decided to explore the IPv6 Internet. This presentation explores preliminar results of an ongoing wide-scale project to map the IPv6 Internet at mass scale.

This presentation will not only covers key findings of the aforementioned project, but will also shed light on which techniques work better (for which scenarios) in practice.
