What is the enthusiast rate?
Our Enthusiast rate is for our hardcore TROOPERS. The ones who trust us to create an awesome agenda, and book their ticket before a single talk is published on our website. This year you can get your Enthusiast rate voucher by following us on Twitter (@WEareTROOPERS) or signing-up our mailing list.
How can I redeem my voucher?
Please head to our ticketshop. FIRST put your voucher code in the "Redeem Voucher" box, and click "Redeem voucher" button. This will then take you to a new screen where you will be able to see and register for the package(s) that belong to your voucher.
If I have an unused voucher, is a seat guaranteed for me in a training and/or conference event?
No, the voucher does not guarantee you a seat, and tickets are on a first come first serve basis. Should you have received a voucher please register for your package asap.
How do I book the Academic Rate?
Our Academic rates require valid proof of eligibility and special booking code to register. Please send your proof of academic status to firstname.lastname@example.org as well as which package you would like to sign up for. Once confirmed you will receive you voucher to register for one of the following packages: Academic All Inclusive (Con + 2 day training) or All Inclusive NGI is 1350€, Academic Conference only or NGI only is 850€, Academic Conference + Roundtables is 1050€, or Academic Training Only is 1090€. Please note that Academic rates apply to current members of academic institutions like universities and academic research centers, including Ph.D. candidates.
What are Social Events about?
Social events serve many purposes at TROOPERS. Our shared dinner is a chance to connect and share knowledge with others you may not normally see or have a chance to meet (so we highly suggest you sit with people you don’t already know!). While PacketWars is a chance to show your skills, learn new ones, and have some fun! On the Thursday morning of our conference (bright and early), our classic TROOPERS 10k run helps to raise money for our TROOPERS’ Charity. This year we will again raise money for Soup and Socks e.V..
What is Soup and Socks and Habibi.Works?
Soup and Socks is a refugee help origanization, who we support by raising money at the TROOPERS conference. That money goes to support a project of Soup and Socks called "Habibi.Works". You are of course welcome to donate any amount (yes, we also take coins) and/or participate in the 10k run.
I am not a runner - how else can I help the charity?
During lunch on the second day are several items to be raffled off, with all proceeds going to the TROOPERS Charity. Another way is to visit our Charity table in the lobby by registration. There are items there that have no fixed cost, but you donate what you think is best. You can always just drop your change in the Charity box at the table as well (we take all denominations!). Thank you!
Is there a hotel booking code?
Yes! You will find the rates and booking code for select hotels mid-October on our travel page
Is there food at TROOPERS?
Yes! Your ticket includes a light breakfast, lunch, and snacks/drinks throughout the day, for each training day, and Main Conference day. For those attending the main conference, your ticket also includes the Shared Dinner on the Wednesday of the conference. If you have any special requirements (like allergies or such), please let us know at check-in.
Are trainings/talks given in German or English?
As we are an international conference all talks during the Main Conference/Roundtables are in English. For the trainings- the default language is English, unless the training is led by a German speaker and contains all German speaking attendees who are comfortable with the training being given in German. (However, please note all training materials are still prepared in English).
I have further questions and would like to speak to someone in person, who do I call?
No problem. Feel free to reach out to us through any channels listed on our contact page. We are fluent in English and German.
